happy Ninoy Aquino Day

Today, we are celebrating the 26th death anniversary of the martyred national hero Benigno S Aquino Jr. He was one of the strongest influences in the opposition party against the Marcos Administration. He exposed and revealed all the graft and corruption happening behind the curtains of politics; thus, he became the archrival of Ferdinand Marcos during the Martial Law era.
His life was abruptly ended as he deplaned from a China Airlines flight from Boston by a couple of bullets through his head. His death sparked a series of revolutions against the administration leading to the EDSA Revolution of 1986 and put his wife the late President Corazon Aquino for President.
Meanwhile, Imelda Marcos expressed her long-time desire to have a state funeral for her husband, the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, who died back in 1991. The Late President remains has been lying in a controlled chamber in a mausoleum in his hometown in Ilocos Norte. I know what it is to lose a loved one. Especially in our case, we cannot even fulfull our Christian and sacred duty to give Ferdinand an honorable burial. I hope that soon the Lord will bless us to fulfill that sacred duty," Marcos said.
